当我们做事情还处于领先的状态时，可以考虑是否应该 “quit while you‘re ahead“，如果继续坚持并不意味着结果会更好。这个表达源于赌博，在赌场上如果赢钱了，最好适可而止，见好就收，不可太贪心否则可能会倾家荡产。

例句

Spend a few years playing the stock market， make some money， then get out. Quit while you’re ahead.

I don’t think you should spend any more on your car. Quit while you’re ahead. If you sell it now you’ll still come out with a bit of profit， but if you put any more cash into it you’ll never make it back.

Quitter 是一个贬义词，形容某人一碰到困难就打退堂鼓，不愿解决难题、半途而废、不善始善终的人。
